Forest day

They celebrated the day of the forest this Wednesday. They have been logging my nearby little forest the last week in a rather old fashioned way. They used horses and no electric machinery. Now they took the opportunity to teach children and grownups how the forest can be logged in a "natural" way, Not entirely spoiling the area. 

It is good not to use heavy tractors, but they still spoil a natural little city forest.  There used to be a lot of birds and Roe deer here as well as hare.The man in the last image told me they will change the area to be a "park like" area. Still saving some old trees. Well, we will see when they are done. And what happen to wildlife as it was.

I think every school in town was here in the morning.

Summer is in full swing but I hope some of you still like to link up. Several other memes has summerbreaks but I will not. Not yet anyway. The future will depend of the computer problems and lack of patience. 

I was in the forest yesterday looking for mushrooms. You should have seen me, dressed in a "hiding" suit, Covered from top to toe. Why?   Moskitoes!!! The older I get the less I like them. Way below zero right now. Will soon have to make some decisions. Maybe later I will share what I look like when in the forest. 

This time I share a privy.  It is located in the forest and placed there by the lajv people. Looks like crap but I did take a look inside and they actually have cleaned it up. But those lajv people have spoild the forest more or less. There are benches and grills everywhere. They must be both lazy and hungry. They have even build an old fashioned prison. But now I am chatting. Over to the images of today.

I was driving by when I noticed this glowing heap of timber. So I had to turn back to take a few shots. Then I also noticed the high stub behind it. This piece of wood looked like a deer or something. But I think I have to go back to give it another try. I want the background blurred so the wood stands out. Then I can play with it.

Next week I probably set the meme on schedule and hopefully it works. I am going to switch to a new computer and that is frustrating as you all know. I will not be online as much as usual during until I´m finished.

A moose cow and last years calf a grey day.

This is probably the same pair as above, but another day. When sun shines and the green started to show I met them in one of the rows. I think the last one is the calf. It was standing still for a long time watching me.

The Oak in one corner of the forest has no leaves yet. It will still take a while.

This is my favorite mushroom and now the season for them has started. I will be in the forest a lot the coming months. If the weather keeps them growing. It has to be wet for them to grow large and tasty.  Not too wet of course. I found almost 2 litres yesterday and had to clean them. That´s is enough for three dinners for me. Cooked in different ways

I was walking in the energy forest at Boda Kvarn two days ago. Sun shining and I did not expect to meet any other then maybe a deer. Or a hare. But the first thing I encountered was this elk. Probably a young one from last year. It looked at me and then took off into the trees. 

Then I continued checking the rows of trees in the field. Saw something dark and realized it was a wild boar. And it had at least 5 newly born piglets.

Not my best images ever but it was hard to focus in both cases. Seeing the elk I stopped on the spot and lifted the camera slowly to get a shot. I managed to get these two before it was gone. The boars noticed I was there but it was hard to focus because they was far into the bushes. And the family moved away.

Little lizard

Little lizard

This is the weirdest little lizard I´ve ever seen. So small and so well camoflaged for a life in CostaRican rainforest. I would never have seen it but our guide did. But of course, he knew what to look for and where. The last shot is bad but shows the rather cool front legs.
