There are ice on the water but no snow on land. Checking the weather report it is strange. My area seem to be the only one with no snow. Around us there are. Some places a lot. I don´t want a lot, but no snow makes a grey and dull place.
The Mallards are all gathered by the bridge where it is open water.

Visited the same place as teh post before this. But now when it was dark. Still time was only 18,00.
First is the bridge over to the Main building. The lamp is in the garden and the green yellow blur beside the lamp I think is a butterfly. Probably a Brimstone.

Kvismaren Nature Reserve

The area is rather large and comes with several birding towers at different locations. And there is fences and mostly, birds. This time cows and cranes were grazing together. This place too, is very low in water level.

Stendörren Nature Reserve

Stendörren Natur Reservat - "Stone door" Nature Reserve

Stendörren is a place in the Archipelago of the Baltic sea. Lots of small islands connected with wooden bridges and one hang bridge made of wires. Looking back when you are standing on the hanging bridge you can see the wooden bridge from the first image. That one was a little woobly and had only one fence to grab when walking.  

It is 2,5h drive from where I live. And located some 120 km south of Stockholm.

A new bridge

This is the new bridge replacing the one that was broken last March. It took 9 months to get a new one. During that time it was a problem travelling around the lake. Especially for farmers. 

This is a wooden bridge entirely as I heard and took three months to build. It was built in the northern part of Sweden and took several days to transport to my town. They will open it today.

Welcome to the forth edition of the NF Tree n Bushes meme.

 I have always liked trees and have lots of them in my files that I never got around to post. I assume that many of you have it too. So, for this meme is not about running around taking shots today. You can as well dig in your files for those gems never posted. Trees and bushes comes in many shapes and forms ant they look different as the year go by. Many of them has flowers and are showing autumn colors. They change always.

Thanks to everyone who has joined in so far. It seem to work well and to be a fun one. I hope it will continue that way. Today I share birches again. Well, what do you expect. It is the most common tree in Sweden :)  These birches grow at the nearby lake where we have a small beach. They look nice all year round. This was an early morning walk.

 The first viev I get coming to the lake is this one. Where the birch stands is a small area for toddlers to play in the water.

Standing at the birch above turning around I see this view. With the bridge. This is the place for those who can swim.

And for divers. As the  trampoline is up it is just to jump in. But I guess it was still very cold that day.

The new bridge they build in October was finally opened. Took a while but I guess they did not want some slippery accidents to begin with. Now I have another path to walk instead of the ones that was spoiled 2 weeks ago as another bridge was destroyed. This bridge is only for walking.

This is / was a bridge I often passes. But 2 days ago a tractor was driving over it and was too heavy. This is the result of that. Now, for me, this spoiled 3 of my routes as I have to pass the stream here to go around the lakes. I hope they will rebuild it. In one way or another.

NF Meme NEWS

Next week "NF Catching Light" will open again. Mondays as usual but
it will move to NF Bildverkstan/Image workshop.
I realized from comments that some of you actually learned from it so I will change it a bit. I will give explanations and occasionally give you optional themes to work with. That will challenge me a bit too.

I will also start a new meme. A topic I have not seen before. Trees and bushes! That will give some people an excuse to link up their flowering trees and bushes as well. The meme will run for the summer at least. I have tons of trees to post from all over the world.   :)

The same bridge, two different times and dates. So dark now. Raining both days. Yet rather good shots I think. I cross this bridge every time I´m going downtown.

Taking the walk over the new bridge I saw this cat very concentrated on the small fish in the water. I doubt it could catch any dinner on that location.

Now it is not possible to cross that bridge so instead of going in a big circle you have to turn back the same way you came. For the moment the nice promenade is spoiled. Hopefully the bridge will be rebuilt before winter is here. :(
