NF Photo 120330, snok
I saw this snake, we call it Snok, 2 weeks ago. There were several of them coming out of hiding. They stay in the ground during the winter, sleeping. Then when the sun warmes the soil they wake up and comes out . These were not fully grown, I think, as they were quite small. The head not bigger then my finger. This snake has no poison and is quite nice.

Great shots! We've had some snakes around for a month or so now.
How great to be able to photograph them as they are emerging after winter. Lovely shots!
Not a fan of snakes, but this one does have cool markings. I will admire from afar.
I wanted to comment on your bumble bee picture but the comment box seems to be switched off so I am here instead and with regards the bumble bee.... I am speechless. That is one seriously cool shot.
