Welcome to the first edition of the NF Tree n Bushes meme.

 I have always liked trees and have lots of them in my files that I never got around to post. I assume that many of you have it too. So, for this meme is not about running around taking shots today. You can as well dig in your files for those gems never posted. Trees and bushes comes in many shapes and forms ant they look different as the year go by. Many of them has flowers and are showing autumn colors. They change always.

Once upon a time, this was a great tree

I was chocked when I saw they had cut down the tree. It was large but, from what I could see, healthy. Maybe they thought it was too big. But cutting it down also meant the magpies lost their home and they was not too happy about it.  :(

Too bad there are houses in the background. The tree and the branches creates a nice scenery.

Those guys are waking up and tries to get warm in the sun. I know some people are scared of them but these are of no danger to us. No poison here. And, does it not look cozy with all those bodies in tangled? You can also see they are of different age. The larger the head is, the older the snake is. But compared with the leafs you can tell they are quite small. These snakes winter in a slope at a small stream. When they are warmed up they will go fishing.

I like them, this snake we call Snok, is special to me.

A day just before all snow melted. I did choose this image today as the snow enhanced the shape of the fences and the shadows. The snow is all gone now.

NF Trees n Bushes #2

Welcome to the first edition of the NF Tree n Bushes meme.

 I have always liked trees and have lots of them in my files that I never got around to post. I assume that many of you have it too. So, for this meme is not about running around taking shots today. You can as well dig in your files for those gems never posted. Trees and bushes comes in many shapes and forms ant they look different as the year go by. Many of them has flowers and are showing autumn colors. They change always.

I once followed a blog that challenged people to choose one tree and follow it for a year. It was quite fun.
But what you want to do is up to you. Just share it with us.

Marshes at lake Kolsnaren

This is a photo of the marshes I have to pass when going out to a birding tower. The photo was taken just before the ice melted. It´s a new place for me so it will be nice to see what small  birds I will find there later on.
Now it is your turn to share your trees and bushes. And having fun doing it. I´m opening a bit early today, am planning a field trip.

A new bridge

The new bridge they build in October was finally opened. Took a while but I guess they did not want some slippery accidents to begin with. Now I have another path to walk instead of the ones that was spoiled 2 weeks ago as another bridge was destroyed. This bridge is only for walking.
